REFORMED CHURCH INTERNATIONAL SOUTH AFRICA
ABOUT RCISA
Reformed Church International South Africa (RCISA) was birthed from the REFORMED CHURCH IN ZIMBABWE.
The foundations of Reformed Church in Zimbabwe has its roots right in the nation of South Africa, traced back to Europe where Reformation erupted through particular individuals used by God. The commencement of the church in South Africa was due to the reformation that was taking place in Europe.
As a result of the revival, Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa (DRC) of the Cape Synod was instituted which later spread revival work into Zimbabwe through the commitment and passion of Christians of Zoutpansberg congregation.
On the 9th of September 1891 the DRC Missionaries planted the Shona Reformed Church at Morgenster Mission in Masvingo. As the great work of revival heightened, other mission stations were established namely Pamushana, Jichidza, Alheit, Makumbe and Chibi. As time progressed the works and spirit of reformation continued across the country and the church grew significantly.
Till today the church is still experiencing reformation and revival as Reformed Church International was established first in UK and now in South Africa. The church’s headquarters is in Masvingo, Zimbabwe.
THE FORMATION OF REFORMED CHURCH INTERNATIONAL SOUTH AFRICA
The Reformed Church International – South Africa is a Christian family, part of the body of Christ, birthed from the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe, a protestant church headquartered in the Masvingo town of Zimbabwe.
Due to globalisation, people migrating from one country to the other motivated by different pull and push factors, some in search for greener pastures, furtherance of education and so forth. There is however one thing that remains infallible…the desire to feel at home, sense of community and belonging in worship.
This saw former members of RCZ Connecting together as a solid mesh and becoming a family again away from home…one big happy family. This is not to say other people from different walks of life are not welcome. Employable across the divide is the open arm policy…everyone is family. Now the RCISA congregation has many branches which include Pretoria, Kempton Park, Johannesburg, Polokwane, Strand in Cape Town, Milnerton in Cape Town, Witbank and Orange Farm which is to the south of Johannesburg.
